Lance Ouellette and Justyna Szajna first met 20 years ago at the University of Toronto where they were paired together as a violin and piano duo. They arrived in Kitchener Waterloo in 2002 earning a Diploma in Chamber Music from Wilfrid Laurier University. They have performed on stages across Canada and abroad featured as a violin/piano duo and collaborative chamber musicians.
Lance, from Saint John, NB is an Associate Concertmaster for the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony Orchestra as well as Associate Concertmaster for the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra and performs regularly with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. He has adjudicated for the Federation of Canadian Music Festivals and the Canadian Music Competition long after being awarded top prizes at the National finals for both competitions. Lance enjoys teaching violin for the University of Waterloo as well as private lessons to students across the region.
Justyna, from Wroclaw, Poland, is the Collaborative Pianist for the University of Waterloo and teaches private lessons to over 30 students through the Beckett School at Laurier. Other collaborations include the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony, Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, the Addison Women’s Choir, Kitchener Waterloo Chamber Orchestra, and adjudicating for the Federation of Canadian Music Festivals. Justyna is a certified Yoga instructor and the founder of “Yoga For Musicians KW”.
Aside from music, Lance and Justyna enjoy traveling, golfing, fishing, and Netflix.
